Residential Design Process
STAGE I - DESIGN MEETING
During our initial meeting, we spend most of our time listening to the client’s vision of the project, including reviewing any images that provide inspiration, style preferences, likes, as well as dislikes. This stage of the process also allows for an in-depth discussion on project schedule and scope. We want to make sure we are on the same page as our client, as this provides the building blocks for a seamless project.
STAGE II - CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT
Our design team spends the next few weeks developing a comprehensive interior design concept. This includes mood boards, floor plans, and preliminary furniture and material selections. The design concept meeting is entirely interactive for the client, as the design team makes adjustments based on the feedback we receive from the client. We generally present 2-3 different schemes, allowing the client to view a range of styles before ultimately deciding on the right direction for their project.
STAGE III - DESIGN DEVELOPMENT
During this phase, we focus on concept refinement and budget development. Materials and fabrics are selected for specific locations, furniture layouts are determined, and architects and contractors receive a set of design specifications. The project budget is reviewed in detail as materials are selected and approved, to ensure budget constraints are respected. Prior to the project entering purchasing, a final meeting ensures design concept is approved as well as the realized budget for the project is on target.
STAGE IV - SPECIFICATION & PURCHASING
The design team and back office move forward with purchasing to ensure deadlines are met. Clients receive and approve detailed proposals for each item selected.
STAGE V - INSTALLATION
Installation typically takes two weeks. We will oversee the delivery and installation of all items, and coordinate schedules with each vendor to ensure everything arrives on time, in perfect condition.
